Like your site. Have used it before to help map out trips with my daughter. Keep up the good work. Would like to create something similar of our adventures.

I just found this site by searching for Mokelumne Wilderness Beebe Lake. I found a great report and will head there myself, next summer I'm afraid...

Thank you for your site, it's been very helpful with planning my solo backpacking trips. (I think the most helpful actually, especially for someone new to the area wanting a personal perspective of trails.) It has made it easier to make the transition to heading out on my own without a group a friends.

Again thanks! Keep it up.

What a GREAT site! GORGEOUS PHOTOS!
I live in South Lake Tahoe off & on(about half time) throughout the year. I LOVE to hike and am always looking for someone to hike with ((my husband prefers cycling). I have been up Mt. Tallac many times (all 3 routes), but would love to do some hikes from Echo Lakes (Lake of the Woods, Aloha, etc.) and anywhere else for that matter. I am 66 years old (woman) & in pretty good shape and hike at a medium pace. If anyone in the area is interested, make contact here and we'll figure out how to connect.

Great to meet you and Sarah at Coast Camp. Tyler and Jacob had fun at the beach camp fire and swing. Your photos and trail descriptions are excellent! I look forward to doing more research and trying some of your trips. Happy Trails Mark.

Hello out there fellow backpackers and hikers. I am writing as I am in desperate need of fellow outdoorsman to be on the lookout or to rally a save Murphy hike. Murphy is a five year old golden retriever that was lost Oct 6 2012 at Hellhole Reservoir. She ran off when she heard gunshots in the area. She could be anywhere by now, but it is imperative that people in the area be on the lookout for her this week, as a winter storm is approaching due to arrive Wed. night on the 7th of November. Her owner's name is Nathan Braun. That number is (916) 717-8400. They were camping in an area that has a river by it?! I am unfamiliar with the area but I am willing to go out with rallied hikers if I can pull this off. My number is (530) 573-1332. I am in South Lake Tahoe. My goal is to rally a group of hikers by tomorrow or Wed. I realize this is late notice, but I just found this site. Teresa

Thanks for the kind words on the site. To answer your question, no we haven't run into any mountain lions lately. The two that I have seen in Sunol were both midweek with not many/any people on the trail. Both encounters the lion ran off without me having to really do anything but think about getting my camera out. Unfortuantely they are quick, and by the time my brain registered take a picture of the lion they were gone.

Great stuff on here guys! Just wanted to know, have you ran into any mountain lions recently? If so where and did they exhibit any aggressive behavior?

Thanks and happy trails!

Thanks for the comment Chris. You are correct that there was a fair amount of litter up there. I always try to take some back with me and dispose of it properly as well. I am not sure what people are thinking when they litter on the trail, well anywhere really but especially on the trail.
