Thanks for the kind words on the site. To answer your question, no we haven't run into any mountain lions lately. The two that I have seen in Sunol were both midweek with not many/any people on the trail. Both encounters the lion ran off without me having to really do anything but think about getting my camera out. Unfortuantely they are quick, and by the time my brain registered take a picture of the lion they were gone.

Great stuff on here guys! Just wanted to know, have you ran into any mountain lions recently? If so where and did they exhibit any aggressive behavior?

Thanks for the comment Chris. You are correct that there was a fair amount of litter up there. I always try to take some back with me and dispose of it properly as well. I am not sure what people are thinking when they litter on the trail, well anywhere really but especially on the trail.

Hi Mark -

Nice write up on Mission Peak! One thing that you did not mention (which might be a good thing) in addition to the graffiti is the litter (at the peak and on the trail). In August and September I was hiking up there a lot (training for Half Dome) and finally got to the point where I would bring a trash bag so I could haul down the empty bottles, food wrappers and other whathaveyou. As I was doing double-hikes (up and back twice) I'd pick up junk on the first run, then there'd be more when I returned less than three hours later . :!mad:
